人間は来るべき存在である。

　フランシス・ポンジュ（1899年～1988年）は1942年に発表した散文詩集『物の味方』（Le Parti pris des choses）で注目されたが、詩のみならず戦後の新しい文学の先駆的存在としても見なされている。詩についてはあまり言及していないサルトルまでも『実存主義とは何か』の中で、引用文に続く L'homme est l'avenir de l'homme.（人間は人間の未来である）を取り上げているほどである。
