夜の灯りの中で、君の眼差しはもっと強く叫ぶ

　現代に続く中世都市プロヴァン生まれの著名人として、さらに忘れてはならないのが、作曲家であり音楽プロデューサであるジャン・ルナール（ Jean Renard 、1933年～ ）である。
　彼は60年代にシルヴィ・ヴァルタンやジョニー・アリディのプロデュースをして、二人のスターとしての地位を確固たるものにしたことをはじめ（ちなみにヴァルタンとアリディは1965年に結婚している）、フランスのショウビジネス界では名うての辣腕として知られている。
　1970年にはイスラエル出身のマイク・ブラントのプロデュースをして、彼をスター歌手にした。引用した「Mais dans la lumière」はブラント3枚目のシングルで、作曲のほか作詞もジャン・ルナールが手がけている。（日本では1973年に安井かずみが訳詞をして、沢田研二の歌で「魅せられた夜」というタイトルでリリースされている）
