ジュリアン・デュヴィヴィエ（ Julien Duvivier、1896年～1967年 ）は、フランス北部のリールで生まれる。パリで舞台俳優をしたあと、演出をするようになり、さらには映画監督として1930年代から『にんじん（ Poil de carotte ）』や『望郷（ Pépé le Moko ）』、『舞踏会の手帖（ Un carnet de bal ）』など数多くの名作を生み出している。
